Maximum loan and stress rate changes

On Tuesday 18 February 2020, we made some maximum loan size and Let to Buy stress rate changes.

Maximum loan change

We have increased the maximum loan size for Buy to Let First Time and Experienced Landlords. Please see below for details:

Buy to Let Experienced Landlords

  • Over 65% and up to 70% LTV - increased from £750,000 to £1,000,000
  • Over 70% and up to 75% LTV - increased from £500,000 to £750,000.

Buy to Let First Time Landlords

  • Up to 50% LTV - increased from £500,000 to £750,000.

Let to Buy stress rate change

We're also changing our stress rate policy for Let to Buy applications where the borrower is remortgaging without capital raising. All other stress rates remain unchanged. Please see below for details:

  • Applications up to and including 75% LTV, a rate of 5.50% will now apply
  • Applications over 75% LTV, a rate of 5.99% will now apply.
